How funding works

However your plan
is managed.

We work with every management type. Tell us how your plan's set up at intake. The rest is on us. Service agreements, invoicing and progress notes are handled end-to-end.

01 Most flexible

Self-managed

You handle the payments. We send a clear invoice with NDIS line items, you reimburse from your plan. Fastest start, full choice of clinician.

02 Most common

Plan-managed

Your plan manager pays us directly. Tell us who they are at intake. We'll send the service agreement and invoices straight to them.

03 Registered only

NDIA-managed

We claim directly through the NDIS portal. Because we're a registered provider, NDIA-managed participants can use us without any extra paperwork.

04 Coordinator-led

Support coordinator

Send the referral, we'll take it from there. Our intake team handles coordinator enquiries, fast referral acknowledgement, reports on the day they're due.

For support coordinators

A provider your
caseload can rely on.

You've got enough on your plate without chasing reports and rebooking ghosted appointments. Refer a participant and we'll handle it from there, properly.

  • Fast referral acknowledgement

Intake reads, replies and rings the participant inside one business day. You get a status note that day.

  • Reports on the day they're due

We commit to a date in writing. If something slips, you hear it from us first, not the participant.

  • One intake team, no ticketing queues

Our intake team stays across your participant's case and liaises with the OT, Speech or Physio treating them.

  • Transparent billing, line by line

NDIS line items, dates, durations and clinician on every invoice. Easy to reconcile against the plan.

Why participants pick us

Three things plans
tell us we get right.

Registered & audited

Audited annually against the Practice Standards.

Being NDIS-registered means an external auditor checks our clinical governance, incident management, worker screening and policies every single year. It's the highest bar in the sector. It is the reason NDIA-managed plans can use us without workarounds.

  • NDIS Practice Standards compliant, externally audited
  • Worker Screening, Working with Children and professional registration on every clinician
  • Formal complaints and incident processes, actually used

02 · Reports that get read
Plain English

Reports your planner can actually use.

We write FCAs, SDA, SIL, ILO and home modification reports the way the NDIA wants them read: clear functional descriptions, evidenced reasonable-and-necessary statements, costed recommendations. No jargon walls, no padding to hit a page count.

Short waits

Waitlists we work hard to keep short.

Many allied health waitlists in Melbourne sit at six to twelve months. We staff to demand to keep ours shorter. When your first visit starts depends on clinician capacity in your area and completing your onboarding documentation, and we'll be upfront about timing at intake.

NDIS questions

Common asks
about NDIS therapy.

Registration, management types, the support-coordinator workflow, and how to switch to us from another provider mid-plan.

Ask our intake team
Are you actually a registered NDIS provider?

Yes. Equal Therapy is registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission across Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology and Physiotherapy. We're audited annually against the Practice Standards.

Can you work with self, plan and NDIA-managed plans?

All three. Self-managed participants invoice and reimburse themselves. Plan-managed participants nominate their plan manager and we bill them directly. NDIA-managed participants are claimed via the NDIS portal. Only registered providers can do this, and we are one.

What's the difference between self, plan and NDIA-managed?

Self-managed gives you full control over your budget and provider choice. You pay invoices and claim back. Plan-managed uses a third-party manager to handle payments. Most participants pick this for the admin relief. NDIA-managed has the NDIA pay providers directly via the portal, for registered providers only.

What's the support coordinator workflow?

Email the referral to intake. We aim to acknowledge referrals the same business day with a service agreement, book the first visit, and send you a brief intake summary. From there: progress notes on request, reports on the agreed date, and our intake team on hand whenever you need an update.

How do you approach assessment reports?

We write FCAs, SDA and SIL reports in plain functional language, with costed recommendations, and treat each report like the planner is the audience (because they are). Funding decisions rest with the NDIA, so we focus on giving the planner clear, evidenced information to work from.

Can I switch to you mid-plan from another provider?

Yes, and we make it easy. End your service agreement with your current provider, sign a new one with us, and we'll pick up where they left off. Bring whatever reports, goals or equipment trials you've already done and we won't redo what doesn't need redoing.

Ready when your plan is
